Tracfone Promotional Codes

TracFone Promotional Codes

Tracfone promotional codes current as of May 10,  2013

NOTE: If you are looking for a promo code to be used when buying a new phone or airtime card package from TracFone.com,please check out this post.

Please refer to the “Adding Airtime” section of my $3 ebook (THE Unofficial TracFone User’s Guide) for detailed instructions on how to use the promotional codes.

TracFone Promo CodesTo use the following table, first determine which card you are going to add, then scan down the “bonus” column and select the code with the bonus of your choice. If one of the codes will not work on your phone, proceed to look down the column for the next best code, and repeat until you find a working code, if necessary.

You’ll notice that I have included in this list some codes whose reported expiration date has passed, and for other codes, the expiration date column is either “unknown” or blank. This is because Tracfone seems to have inconsistent policies on the expiration dates – at times the codes will be valid well beyond the stated expiration date.

Finally, these codes are listed for the smallest card to which they can be applied. Most Tracfone bonus codes can be applied to the card denomination for which they are stated to work, or any larger card.

Also, after you are done using the bonus codes, please check out the other posts on my blog, which you can find links to on the right side of this page. You might even like to subscribe to receive free updates by email.

I do my best to keep this current. If you attempt to use any of these codes, I would appreciate hearing about your success or failure for specific codes. Please feel free to reply in the “comments” section of this post to let me know what codes are or are not working for you. Thanks!

Please bookmark this page and refer back to it as you need to. I will keep it updated with all current Tracfone codes that I know of. If you’d rather find them yourself, my two main sources are the Tracfone User Group at Yahoo! and Fatwallet Forums.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, there are more ways than just bonus codes to save with Tracfone and I’d be happy to have you check out my discussion of some of these topics by clicking on the links on the right, or subscribe to receive free updates by email. THANKS!

Free PC Security Stuff

I was reading in PC Magazine about their top free software (because I like free stuff and, yes, I love technology), and I took special interest in their “security” section. I found a few completely free tricks to check out how well your security software is performing, and I thought they were really useful. I picked out these three because they were free, fairly quick, and web-based, so you don’t have to install any special software to do it (with one exception). The three sites I’m recommending are NanoScan.com, ShieldsUP! from grc.com, and PC Flank. NanoScan searches for viruses and spyware that might already be on your computer, while the other two test your vulnerability to new threats from the internet.

As I mentioned earlier, all three of these were recommended by PC Magazine; therefore, I trust that they are safe. I also don’t claim to know anything about how good or bad this information is, but I think it’s useful to know where weak spots might be. Pretty much all I know about these tests comes from the sites that offer them. If anyone getting this message has other suggestions, or just plain knows more about this stuff than me, I’ll be more than happy to hear from you.

For the record, I currently run only AVG (also recommended by PC magazine, also free from www.free.grisoft.com) anti-virus along with whatever other software came installed with my Vista Home Premium operating system. After the PC Flank leak test and browser test, I decided to add Comodo Personal Firewall (also recommended by PC magazine, also free, www.personalfirewall.comodo.com). I hope that clears up some of the weak spots revealed by PC Flank.

Anyway, here’s what I found that I thought might be helpful to everyone:
Recommendation #1: NanoScan.com
For this one, I had to use Internet Explorer. For some reason, it didn’t want to work in Firefox, which is my usual browser. Anyway, here are the directions:
Go to www.nanoscan.com and click on the big “NanoScan my PC” button in the middle of the screen. If you have some security software in place, you will probably need to give the site permission to install a few things on your machine. This might include temporarily disabling a pop-up blocker (please do it for nanoscan.com ONLY, or be SURE to re-enable pop-up blocking once you’re done).
NanoScan will first scan your system, then compare those results against a database of known threats. Next you will see the results. Here’s what I got (and hope you get the same!):

Scan result

Summary: Your PC doesn’t have viruses

Time: 17 seconds

Antivirus: Grisoft AVG 7.5.516 (active and up-to-date)

Recommendation #2: ShieldsUP
1. Go to www.grc.com and click on the “ShieldsUP!” image in the middle of the page.

2. Scroll down a ways and, under “Hot Spots,” click on “ShieldsUP!”
3. After reading the fine print (there’s some good stuff in there), click “proceed,” and on the next page you will see something that looks like the following (this particular image has been resized, but you get the idea) :

4. Click on each of the first three options above, one by one, and you will get a scan as the site attempts to access your system. I also tried the fourth one (Messenger Spam), but nothing happened for me so I assume that my system is immune to that type of spam. The “browse headers” seemed like it would probably be useful, but it was a little to “techie” for me. Two other “services offered, “User Specified Custom Port Probe” and “Lookup Specific Port Information” seem to be more in-depth analysis that is available if the “Common Ports” or “All Service Ports” scans turn up any problems. But, again, these two options were just a little over my head.
Anyway, here are a couple of examples of scan results that I got. Again, all appears to be well with my machine, and I hope the same is true for you.

“File Sharing” Scan

Attempting connection to your computer. . .
Shields UP! is now attempting to contact the Hidden Internet Server within your PC. It is likely that no one has told you that your own personal computer may now be functioning as an Internet Server with neither your knowledge nor your permission. And that it may be serving up all or many of your personal files for reading, writing, modification and even deletion by anyone, anywhere, on the Internet!
Your Internet port 139 does not appear to exist!
One or more ports on this system are operating in FULL STEALTH MODE! Standard Internet behavior requires port connection attempts to be answered with a success or refusal response. Therefore, only an attempt to connect to a nonexistent computer results in no response of either kind. But YOUR computer has DELIBERATELY CHOSEN NOT TO RESPOND (that’s very cool!) which represents advanced computer and port stealthing capabilities. A machine configured in this fashion is well hardened to Internet NetBIOS attack and intrusion.
Unable to connect with NetBIOS to your computer.
All attempts to get any information from your computer have FAILED. (This is very uncommon for a Windows networking-based PC.) Relative to vulnerabilities from Windows networking, this computer appears to be VERY SECURE since it is NOT exposing ANY of its internal NetBIOS networking protocol over the Internet.
“common port” scanYour system has achieved a perfect “TruStealth” rating. Not a single packet — solicited or otherwise — was received from your system as a result of our security probing tests. Your system ignored and refused to reply to repeated Pings (ICMP Echo Requests). From the standpoint of the passing probes of any hacker, this machine does not exist on the Internet. Some questionable personal security systems expose their users by attempting to “counter-probe the prober”, thus revealing themselves. But your system wisely remained silent in every way. Very nice.
Recommendation #3: PC Flank
This site does a pretty good job of explaining everything it’s doing, so I won’t bother with trying to repeat it all. Just go to pcflank.com and click on the different tests under the “test your system” bar on the left side of the screen. I found a couple of weakness using this one.
Well, that’s it. Please feel free to share any suggestions you might have.

How Much should you pay for a Tracfone One Year Card?

When considering the value of a Tracfone one-year card, the first question is “Why are you interested in buying a one-year card in the first place?” For most people looking at a one-year card, the reason is that they want to set up the phone with service for one year, and not have to worry about it for another 12 months.

This “hands-off” concept was more important in the past, when normal airtime cards added only 60 days of service, and the maximum service date extension was 120 days. Under those terms, the one-year card was the most hassle-free way to maintain your service for a year. However, recently Tracfone has changed their policy, so that standard “minute” cards add 90 days of service, and the 120 day limit has been eliminated. This means that you can buy and add 4 60-minute cards all at once, and your service will be extended by 360 days (4 x 90 = 360).

The other important development is that these 60-minute cards are frequently offered in a package that includes 2 of the 60-minute cards for $19.99, IF you know where to look for them. Tracfone will allow you to order 2 of these packages, for a total of 4 60-minute cards. At a cost of $19.99 each, plus $5 shipping per order, plus tax (varies depending on your state), 4 60-minute cards will cost you between $45 and $50. This price will get you 360 days of service, plus a minimum of 240 minutes. Compare that to the retail price of $100 + tax for a one-year card, and you’re saving $50 or more on your year of service.

You also might notice that in the last paragraph I said “a minimum of 240 minutes.” You can increase this amount by using a bonus code with each 60-minute card. I am currently aware of 3 codes for 60 bonus minutes each, and another code for 30 minutes. You can use each code once per phone, and one code per card, so the bonus minutes will add up to 210 (60 + 60 + 60 + 30 = 210). Add this to the 240 minutes from the stated number of minutes on the card, and you’ll get 450 total minutes and 360 days of service.

Now, there is a bit of a trick to finding the package that includes the two 60-minute cards for $19.99. It’s offered on Tracfone’s website, but only in certain zip codes. Also, I should point out that this package comes with a free phone. BUT, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, you DO NOT need to use the airtime cards on the phone that they come with.

Further, I’m going to share with you a website that will reward you with $10 plus a 5% rebate on your purchase through Tracfone.com (this site also offers savings on hundreds of other online retailers).

You can click here for step-by-step instructions on how to find the package deal, and how to get cash back in the process.

You will also want to remember the codes you will need to use in order to get the bonus minutes I describe above. Here are the current codes (as of Feb. 22, 2008):

  • 53322, 58287, 50722 each for 60 bonus minutes with a 60-minute or larger card.
  • 54626 for 30 bonus minutes with a 60-minute or larger card.

As I mentioned earlier, each of these codes can be used only once per phone. If any of these do not work, there are other codes available for 20 minutes each. For more on the codes, please check out HERE.

Thank you for giving me the chance to share my knowledge with you. I sincerely hope that I’ve helped to make an informed decision and, if at all possible, save money on your Tracfone service. How eBay is costing its users money

My selling of Tracfone ebooks on eBay has gone over pretty well, although early in 2008 and 6 months into my time selling the ebook, the powers that be at eBay decided that some of my main advertising strategies were against eBay policies. Specifically, it’s apparently not kosher to list an auction that includes information on how to find items on websites other than eBay. They claim that it negatively affects the ability of buyers to find the specific item that they are seeking, but clearly the only thing that it might possibly negatively affect is eBay’s bottom line. Here are some of the problems I have with this:

  • at any given time, eBay lists THOUSANDS of coupon and store gift cards. Doesn’t each of these items result in the auction buyer going to a store other than eBay to make the ultimate purchase?
  • eBay themselves display ads leading to outside websites, and these ads are targeted toward the search terms of the buyer. How’s this for helping ebayers find a bargain within ebay?
  • most importantly, in the 6 months I’ve been selling this information, I’ve sold over 1000 copies, received 800 feedback with 99.6% positive, and, estimating conservatively, saved my customers $20,000.

Remember when eBay used to be about finding deals and shopping from the comfort and convenience of your computer chair? Well, my items are delivered instantly and help my buyers find the best possible deal on Tracfone products, which are then delivered to their home. Seems to me I fit all of these criteria. Too bad for me – eBay interprets my listings to negatively affect their bottom line (never mind that I routinely pay $100 per month in eBay fees). Interestingly, their decision to cancel some of my listings came about the same time that they announced a new pricing structure that will result in lower fees for high-volume, low price per item sellers like me, and higher fees for sellers that are selling bigger items. Hmmm…..

Anyway, I had to revise my approach to selling some of the information I had been dispensing. I won’t go into detail on this, but let’s just say that eBay can regulate what I put into my listings, but they can’t regulate the info that I communicate to my buyers. So, those that buy from me are still getting the same information, but it’s now harder for me to convince people to buy since I can’t fully explain all the benefits they’ll receive. That’s brings me here, to this blog. I decided to add this as a means of reaching more people and spreading the word about the best Tracfone deals. Please check out some of my other posts for more specifics.

Tracfone Double Minutes for Life Deal

This is my first post, and my first ever attempt at publishing a blog. This post has a very specific purpose – to share with other Tracfone users valuable information that can help them save 50%-70% off the normal price of a Tracfone Double Minutes for Life card.

Over the past three months I’ve helped hundreds of eBay members find this same information, for a small fee. I’ve now found out that selling this information was actually prohibited by eBay. So, I’m sharing it for free here.

The deal has become a little more complicated in the last few days, but it is still available. Follow the steps at the link below, and you’ll be able to find the Double Minutes for life card for only $15 plus shipping. Plus, for a limited time, you’ll get $10 cash back on your purchase if you follow the steps I recommend. I also explain in this link how to get 100 bonus minutes when you add your Double Minute card to your Tracfone. Here’s the L I N K !

There’s also a great deal going on for the 60-minute cards, using similar steps. You can get two 60-minute cards for only $19.99. That’s 50% off the regular price! For my step-by-step instructions on how to find the deal and save ANOTHER $10 in the process, click h e r e .
