Black Friday Deals

As I promised, here are the Thanksgiving/Black Friday deals I’ve found with the help of some readers who contributed. In particular, it appears it will be worth checking the websites for TracFone, Straight Talk, and Net10 on Black Friday, as there have been hints that all three will have their own deals.
Here’s the list of deals, with the first 4 being those that I already posted last week:

  • TracFone Samsung t301g or LG 290c for $9.00 – Dollar General – Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday – (Both have double minutes, which one you can get depends on your area) – more info on this deal at http://www.dollargeneral.com/Promotions/Pages/tracfone.aspx
  • TracFone LG 420g for $6.99 – Meijer – Black Friday
  • Net10 Motorola w408g w/ BT headset for $14.99 – Kmart – Black Friday
  • Straight Talk Samsung t255g with one month of service for $45 – Walmart – Black Friday – I don’t know whether this one will include a separate card that can be applied to another phone, but at this price you’re effectively getting the phone for free.
  • Net10 Samsung t401g with bluetooth headset – Best Buy – $39.99.
  • As mentioned above, I’d recommend taking a look at all three brand websites (TracFone, Net10, and Straight Talk) to see what deals they have posted on Friday. Straight Talk is already showing several new refurbished models (LG 220c, LG 290c, and Samsung r451c) all free when you buy an airtime card at regular price. They are also offering free overnight shipping on all orders placed by the close of business on 11/29. If you are looking at a Straight Talk phone, this looks like a great way to get started.

Well, that’s all I’ve got. If you find something different, please share it in the comments section. And please have a happy, thankful holiday!

TracFone, Net10 and Straight Talk Black Friday Sales

I’ve made a tradition of trying to organize all the “Black Friday” deals offered on the prepaid phone brands I discuss on this blog. I haven’t spent much time paying attention to the deals this year, but I’ll once again summarize the info if you will help me find the deals.

Here’s what I’d like to do: I’ll post the handful of deals that I know about in this post, and if you happen to know of other deals I’ll ask you to post them in the comments section. Next week I’ll review all the comments as well as any new info that I’ve found, and summarize it all into a single post. I’ll have this done hopefully by Wednesday but definitely not later than Thursday.

Here area couple deals that I know of:

  • TracFone Samsung t301g or LG 290c for $9.00 – Dollar General – Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday – (Both have double minutes, which one you can get depends on your area)

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. If you know of any more, please submit a comment and I’ll add it to the list.

TracFone Promotional Codes – November, 2010

For the current TracFone Promotional Code database, click here.

Earlier this week I did another update on the TracFone Promo Codes list. Not much has changed since the October update, and most of the change that has taken place was on codes for the 400 minute, one year card. I noted just a few codes from the list that are now expired, as well as the following promos that I’ve added to the list:

  • 65588 for 250 bonus minutes on a 400-minute, one-year card
  • 13073 for 250 bonus minutes on a 400-minute, one-year card
  • 77333 for 250 bonus minutes on a 400-minute, one-year card
  • 86531 for 200 bonus minutes on a 400-minute, one-year card
  • 82139 for 50 bonus minutes on a 450 Min Card

Straight Talk Nokia E71 Review

Nokia E71 Review – Straight Talk version

This page is the “index” of my review articles. Below you will find links to each portion of my in-depth review.

I really debated about doing a Nokia E71 review because of the expense. Not only is it a fairly expensive phone to begin with (at $200), but Straight Talk also requires the $45 monthly plan with this model. So it will cost me a fair amount extra each month as long as I have it active.

Nokia E71 Straight Talk review photoI couldn’t pass it up, though, after reading a lot about it on various sites. The feedback has been so overwhelmingly positive, and the capabilities so far beyond any other TracFone, Net10 or Straight Talk handset, that I just have to try it out for myself.

Here’s a small sample of some of the great features of the Nokia E71:

  • Support for downloadable apps (from Nokia’s Ovi store)
  • 3.0 megapixel camera, with a flash and video recording ability
  • WiFi reception, with reportedly very strong reception
  • 3G data connection
  • GPS with map application, which works regardless of whether you have a data connection
  • Flash video support (plays YouTube videos!)
  • Supports streaming audio over the data connection
  • Mp3 player, which will continue to play music in the background even when you run other apps
  • Allows you to surf the web simultaneously while on voice calls
  • Nokia software allows for easy syncing with a PC
  • Some users even report that the E71 might be able to be set up as a wi-fi hotspot using certain apps available from the Ovi store.
  • Plus it’s a Nokia, something that has been available from an America Movil brand for three or four years now.

In addition to all the above features, users report that, as is the case with most Nokia devices, the E71 provides excellent signal reception and call quality.

I’m sure there are a lot of things that people wonder about this phone before they drop $200 and commit to $45 a month, so please let me know what you want to learn about this handset. In the comments below this post, please leave your suggestion of topics for me to cover on my Nokia E71 Straight Talk Review. Once I get the phone I’ll try to address them all.

If you want to buy it now, it looks like the best bet to actually find one is through Straight Talk’s site, which you can find here.
