Choosing from other TracFone models
Beyond the LG 3280, there are several good options available from TracFone, and they add several new models to their lineup every year. Here is a list of a few of the phones I currently recommend, and a brief description of their features:
1.LG 3280 is my preferred phone, as described previously HERE.
2.LG 200C (CDMA Phone) Currently offered with a one year, 400 minute card for $100
- Speakerphone capability
- HAC Compatibility U4/M4
- Good reception
- Voice-activated dialing
- NOTE: At the moment, the LG 3280 is a comparable phone in terms of quality, is available for the same price as this package deal, but the LG 3280 comes with twice as many minutes AND includes double minutes on all phone purchases. So, I still recommend the LG 3280 over this phone.
3.Motorola V176 (GSM Phone) currently offered in some areas with a 200 minute, 90 day card for $40.
- Speakerphone capability
- Great Reception
- Large Screen
- Great Customer Reviews
- I recommend this phone for users who will talk less than 50 units per month
4.Motorola w376g (GSM Phone) currently offered for $30 in some areas with Double Minutes for Life.
- Newest TracFone, won’t be “outdated” for a while
- Includes bluetooth and camera
- Speakerphone capability
- Great reception/sound quality
- Good customer reviews
- Nice loud ringer
- Hearing Aid Compatible (HAC) Rating: M3
- Because it includes double minutes for life, I recommend this phone over the V176 for users that will talk more than 50 minutes per month
5.Motorola w370 (GSM Phone) currently available for $80 in some areas with Double Minutes for Life and a 450 minute card (which will become 900 minutes when doubled).
- Similar to w376g above, but does NOT include bluetooth or camera
- speakerphone capability
- Great reception/sound quality
- Good customer reviews
- Nice loud ringer
- Hearing Aid Compatible (HAC) Rating: M3
- Because it includes double minutes for life, I recommend this phone over the V176 for users that will talk more than 50 minutes per month
Ordering the phones can be a little tricky. If you are ordering a CDMA phone, then it’s more straightforward since a CDMA phone can be activated for any ZIP code. But, on the GSM side, and for reasons that I won’t go into here, not all phones can be activated in all ZIP codes. So, with GSM phones, it will be less complicated if you just choose from among the phones that TracFone offers in your ZIP code. But, for the CDMA phones, you can just follow my instructions to find the phone you are looking for. This simplicity is yet another reason I recommend the 3280, which is a CDMA phone. Again, you can click here to find the LG 3280 or the LG 200C.

Hi,
Thanks for all the awesome information!
You should work for Tracfone, or do you?
Is CDMA only analog ? Is GSM only digital ?
Do you know which Net10 phones are CDMA ?
Thanks so much, Don

Hi Don
I do not work for TracFone – if I did, I’m afraid that I would be less objective in my reviews and recommendations regarding their products and services. But I DO sincerely appreciate the compliment!
Regarding CDMA/GSM – I believe that all GSM is digital, although I could be mistaken. CDMA is a little less clear – it was previously mainly analog, I believe, but has shifted over to digital in the last couple of years. I’m not sure whether that shift is complete, but I think it is.
