LG 220c Review Index

The TracFone LG 220c was released in early October. I’ll be reviewing this phone soon and as I do, I’ll post links to related information on this page.

Here’s Part 1 of my review of the LG 220c

Part 2

And Part 3.

It is available for TracFone at $19.99, Net10 at $39.99, and Straight Talk for $39.99.

  3. I have a Straight Talk LG220c and it has a very noticable time delay. Very hard to carry on a conversation because of it. Is this just the way it is or can anything be done about it?

  4. My 12 year old’s LG220c main screen is all white now and replacement is on the way. Has anyone been able link to PC to download ringtones and wallpapers?

    • Yeah, I was wondering if it was possible to download ringtones, too. Every time I try to transfer them from my computer to my phone through the bluetooth, I get an error message that says “not supported”. Did you figure out how to do it yet?

  6. There is a USB connector that can be purchased for the device as low as $3.00 on e-bay. The bluetooth does not support data transfer through bluetooth. see menu>settings>bluetooth>bluetooth info and under supported profiles it is not compatable. To get the wall papers and ringtones you may purchase the USB data transfer cable.

  7. I just purchased an LG 220C from Straight Talk. I’m trying to find a Bluetooth device that works really well with it. So far I’ve tried: Plantronics models- explorer 340 and voyager 830. Both sound pretty bad on the 220 but they sounded fine on a few (more expensive)Samsung cells my friend has.

Also has anyone been able to email or access file attachments sent to your 220c. I downloaded some mp3 ringtones and then emailed them to my 220c, but can’t seem to access, hear or save them.

Humble thanks for any help. Mark

    • Just hit the upper right ‘soft key’ when you open the phone; you will see the word Browser onscreen over that button. It takes you directly to the Internet.

  9. I was wondering how to enable cookies for the browser in lg 220c. I need to got to netflix and some other sites, but it says I have to enable cookies. I can’t find this option in lg220c anywhere! Help!

  10. It amazes me that some people can navigate their way to post questions on forums, when the answer to their questions can be found on the MAIN screen of their device. As for the LG220 browser, I press the key under the word “Browser”.

    • What?!?! You come to this site, where we make no attempt to hide the fact that we are discussing prepaid phones, and you disparage us like that? It’s fine if you don’t like it, but please just stay away in that case.
You can take your “real” phone and expensive plans, and we’ll take our basic phones and keep the hundreds of dollars per year in savings. There are a precious few people that truly “need” to talk on their phones a lot. For the vast majority of people, it’s just a luxury. If you’re willing to pay a thousand dollars a year or more for that luxury, that’s fine. Most of us on this forum would rather have our luxuries in other forms.

  11. I am trying to escape the “real phone” world – after spending thousands at Verizon – biggest ripoff ever – doing my research and found the LG 220c with Tracfone works – I need these discussions to either confirm or challenge my own conclusions. I can buy and afford the big time phones – but why – paying for something (minutes) I don’t even use – isn’t even common sense.

  12. I’ve talked to friends on contract plans and they tell me they pay $100-200 a month for a family plan. For what!? You can get unlimited plans (if you’re a heavy user) for $50 a month and a nice (even qwerty) phone for under $100 on prepaid.

I guess they want the phones that come with the contract, but at what price!

We could make a car payment for that money!

And if you’re only a light user you can get a Tracfone for around $20 and monthly service for under $10.
    So why pay more?

  13. Hi Mr Bush, I’ve been trying to find out whether this lg220 is available for tracfone’s SVC plan. Wiki states that this is in fact the case. but nowhere on tracfone’s website can I get confirmation of that. I find it hard to believe that tracfone will only harbor a designated GSM phone for seniors, and thereby omitting them that need a CDMA phone. tx

  14. have a Tracfone LG 220c. All works well.
There are only two problems one is that when somone trys to send me a pic I dont get it, how can I recieve pic on ths phone?

One thing I did do was set up a email for pic to be sent. My contacts can send the pic there then I use the brower to check the e mail. LOL pic recieved. just wish there way a way to know is there was a email with a alert type thing

  16. my 220 is over three years old now and the battery doesn’t keep a charge for more than 24 hours. is this entropy normal and/or where can i get a new battery?

…and don’t you just love it when your phone goes, “i know i’m wasting a lot juice by vibrating, beeping, and lighting up, but i really want you to know that i’m low on power right now.”
